Short Schedule for Co-op Days when we have Special Events Minimize
Please note the following schedule which is used on party days and when
special events are held at co-op. This schedule allows for 1 hour and 15 minutes
at the end of the day for social occasions.

9:30 - 10:15 First Period
10:15 - 11:15 Second Period
11:15 - 12:00 Lunch
12:00 - 12:45 Third Period
12:45 - 1:45 Fourth Period

Please note these times allow for extra time for the science classes 2nd and
4th period and 45 minutes for lunch time activities such as 1/2 Track and
Business Meetings.

When inviting guests to activities, keep the time schedule in mind. Parties at co-op are always open to all Excel members and it is a nice time to invite possible new members since they can get a chance to socialize in a way that is not possible during classes.

 Excel Hosts an Exciting Co-op

This is our sixth year of co-op classes! We meet on Thursday and offer four classes for each age group from ages 3 to 15.

EXCEL Co-op is a group of parents working together to offer our kids experience with structured classes in a nurturing environment. As homeschoolers we love the opportunity to work with our kids one to one, to let them work at their own pace, and pursue their own interests. So, why do we have Co-op classes?

Classes offer our kids opportunities and experiences that we would find difficult to provide as individuals. For example, during the spring semester this year we are offering choir. Our classes provide an opportunity for kids to work together and learn with and from each other. The classes also offer our kids an opportunity to learn classroom etiquette. While knowing how to stand in line and raise your hand are not the most important skills in life, knowing what to expect in a class, learning how to work with teachers and other student courteously and respectfully, and knowing how to learn in a group setting will help our kids in many situations from college lectures to staff meetings. One more thing: Co-op is Fun!

Our Co-op classes depend on the co-operation of everyone who participates. Unpaid parent voluteers teach all of our classes. We ask all participant's guardians to remain at co-op while their children are in class. You may not drop off your children. All parents must take at least two co-op jobs, such as teaching, assisting, hall and playground monitoring, or cleaning. While our Co-op classes are very good, and our children learn a great deal, they are not designed to be a complete curriculum.

Fees:

Each family must be a current member of EXCEL to participate. In addition there are facility fees and class fees that are paid each semester. The facilities fees, cover our rent expense for the classroom space we use. These fees are: $30.00 for a child participating in one class, $55.00 for a child participating in two or more classes or $95.00 maximum per family per semester.

The class fees are set individually by each teacher for each class and are used only for supplies and materials for the classes. They range from Free to $30.00 depending on the needs of the class.
