Excel Park Day

Nearly every Monday at Cottonwood Park in Richardson.
Check the CALENDAR on our Home Page to be sure it's happening THIS particular Monday.
We meet near the playground equipment starting at noon. Some families arrive later. Some families stay until around 2 pm. Some stay until around 4 pm. To ensure that your child's peers will be there at roughly the same time as you, be sure to check the
Membership Directory and CALL those families.
Non-members are most welcome! The Excel Membership Coordinator
makes a special point to attend on the first Monday of the month
(weather permitting), but is usually there on other Mondays, as well.

The park is near the intersection of Beltline and Coit. It is behind the Whole Foods grocery store.
Consider bringing snacks, water, a camping chair or blanket, maybe
a hat and some sunglasses for yourself. There are clean toilets on
site, but no hand washing facilities. In addition to slides, swings and jungle gyms, there are tennis courts and basketball courts, a sand pit, a waterfall, a bridge, and a
beautiful stream running through the park -- all of this within sight of where the parents usually sit. The playground is covered by huge deciduous trees, so it's sunny in winter but very well shaded in the summer.
The teens often travel in a large group to the adjacent shopping center to visit the smoothie shop in Whole Foods, and to Starbucks to buy coffees and hot chocolates for their parents. :-D
In addition to the grocery store, there are several restaurants at that
intersection where you can buy a quick lunch if you're going to need
food but you don't have time to pack a picnic.
